What is the Toyota
Certified Program?

The Toyota Certified Used Vehicles program – also referred to as Toyota Certified or TCUV – was launched in 1996. It was developed as a way for Toyota to provide loyal Toyota drivers better options on the used car market. The program takes high-quality, low mileage cars and makes sure they are in great shape for resale by putting them through the certification process. This certification process starts with used cars being turned in at the dealership, then going through the following filters and steps:

▪The car, truck, or SUV must be no more than six model years old.

▪The vehicle must have less than 85,000 miles on the odometer.

▪ If the vehicle passes those two prerequisites, a CARFAX vehicle history report is reviewed to ensure there are no underlying issues or concerns.

▪Provided the vehicle passes, it then undergoes a 160-point inspection by a factory-trained Toyota technician.

▪Any damages or issues are remedied, and the vehicle is reconditioned to meet Toyota standards, using only Toyota-approved OEM parts and methods.

Only then will the vehicle be put out on the lot as a Toyota Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
