Why did I wait so long?

        by Randall D on 5/19/2026 5:14:00 PM

This is the 20th vehicle I have purchased since I first started driving (yes, I like cars). I have had everything from large SUVs to sedans to other hatchbacks, and for the price, mpg ratings (for a non-hybrid) and reliability this can't be beat. Living in the city, I finally realized all I needed was something small, efficient, inexpensive and reliable, and that's what this is. Would I prefer a hybrid? Sure, but I like hatchbacks for their utility, and this having an ICE engine that still gets over 30 mpg in the city is just fine. Most hybrids cost several thousand more and pretty much negate any gas savings. I had a Mazda CX-30 prior to this, and it never broke 20 mpg in town; it was horrible on gas. If you are single or a couple with no children, this is a perfect A to B getting around vehicle; it's zippy and easy to park. The back seat is cramped, so don't expect to have anyone back there for more than quick trips. The cargo area is also smaller than other hatchbacks, but I knew that when I bought it. I chose this over a Civic Hatchback for two reasons: the Civic was more expensive and Honda forces you to buy the most-expensive trim level in order to take advantage of full remote capabilities (i.e. remote start/stop via the app). With Toyota you can buy the base trim and still access all remote features. That's why I don't care that this SE trim doesn't have heated seats or a heated steering wheel; I can simply start the car remotely from my apartment and let it warm up anyways. For around $26k for a brand-new car in 2026 that has Toyota reliability behind it with great resale value, I consider this to be a best buy. Rumor is a refresh is coming in 2027; maybe a hybrid is coming to the hatchback? It will probably be more expensive though.…

        Non- integrated panel, Safety features

by aaia on 5/18/2026 8:25:02 PM

Note to anyone wanting to buy and take advantage of the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ new car deduction the XSE is made in Japan so that won’t qualify. Sized perfectly for just me and my dog. Love the safety features. This is a 2025 model where all the controls are not in a mainframe monitor. So even if it goes faulty you can still operate all basic controls (heat, windows etc) without an integrated panel. Which I prefer. The panel is strictly CarPlay for entertainment and I did not want all integration as that would be very costly to repair. Love the 2.0 engine power. Step up from my Nissan Sentra. I recommend getting side panels to protect against dents and dings. The XSE has JBL speakers. Sporty version of the reliable Corolla.…

Best Little Car, Just What I Needed

        by Beaglelover01 on 5/5/2026 8:32:03 PM

I've had this car for a couple of weeks now and I just love it! I was in for a new car when my 2012 Fiat 500 was slowly falling apart and too costly to fix. I had a checklist and had looked at this car several times. I finally saw it in person and really liked it. It drives so smooth it's unbelievable. I fell in love right away and it met everything on my checklist from being a little bigger to needing the trunk space. But more importantly it's not a sedan. Parking is easy and very fun to drive. Can't wait to try out manual mode some time. Happy with the up to date equipment in the car. I get excellent gas milage forty miles per gallon! I usually find some knit picky thing I do not like about my cars, I can't find anything on this one. I highly recommend, so happy with this car, I'd love to thank Toyota for making such a great car.…

Total Suggested Retail Price or TSRP is the Manufacturer's suggested price. The TSRP plus, the dealer documentation fee of $599, and the title fee of $5.00 that dealers may charge to procure the certificate of title is itemized in the total selling price of the vehicle. The initial selling price does not include any sales or use taxes title and registration fees paid to the appropriate registry of motor vehicles, warranty or insurance products, rebates or other similar charges that you may purchase over and above the initial selling price of the vehicle. Rather, the items listed in the previous sentence will be additional costs added to the initial selling price of the vehicle to arrive at a final and actual selling price. The shipping and destination of the new or preowned vehicle will always be included in the TSRP.

Pricing and availability of the vehicle may vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to options, the dealer, specials, fees, and financing qualifications. Consult with the dealership for the final actual purchase price of the vehicle and complete details of what makes up the final purchase price of the vehicle.

Incentives are subject to qualification. Not all buyers will qualify for the incentives being offered by the vehicle manufacturer.

The optional equipment on the vehicle you choose may be different than the optional equipment that is included in the advertised vehicle and the difference in optional equipment may affect the final price. Consult with the dealership regarding the actual price of the vehicle, payments to be made, and complete details. Also, it is important that the consumer reviews the Monroney sticker on the vehicle BEFORE purchasing the vehicle. It is imperative that customers read and review the Monroney sticker BEFORE finalizing the purchase of the vehicle.

A vehicle "in transit" means that the vehicle has been built but has not yet arrived at the dealership. Images shown in any advertisement media such as a website may not necessarily represent the identical vehicle that is in transit to the dealership.

While the dealership does try to make sure all information posted is accurate, we cannot be responsible for typographical and other errors (e.g., data transmission) that may appear on our website. If the posted price (including finance and lease payments) for a vehicle is incorrect, the dealership will endeavor to provide you with the correct price as soon as the dealership becomes aware of the error. In the event a vehicle is priced incorrectly, the dealership shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for the vehicle presented with the incorrect price. All vehicles are subject to prior sale and may not be available when you are ready to purchase.

A price quoted on a given day is not valid the next day because there is a dramatic swing in the value of new vehicles and their availability.
