Haddad Toyota Dealer Fees Explained

What exactly is a "Doc Fee"?

The Documentary Preparation Fee at Haddad Toyota is collected to cover the cost of processing the paperwork required for the sale or lease of a vehicle. Our dealership is responsible for preparing and processing multiple documents for each transaction, while complying with state and federal regulations that ensure the secure and accurate handling of information. The doc fee not only covers the preparation and processing of these documents, but also includes the storage and archiving of these documents as mandated by state law. The actual expenses incurred by the dealer and recovered by the doc fee vary by dealer, location, and transaction, but all transactions must meet many legal requirements as detailed in the documents presented to the customer.

What types of forms are involved in a vehicle transaction?

Vehicle transactions have become increasingly complex and require meticulous attention to detail. Many of the forms you are required to complete are mandated by Massachusetts and federal laws, while others are essential for accounting and financing purposes. Furthermore, some forms are required by the manufacturer. However, the dealer doc fee does not cover the costs related to financing for the deal itself, such as obtaining and processing credit applications, or processing retail installment sale contracts, as mandated by law. Additionally, the Title Preparation Fee will appear as a separate line item on your sales contract.

At Haddad Toyota, we understand the importance of safeguarding your non-public, personal information when processing a sale or lease. As such, we strictly comply with all federal and state laws designed to protect your information, in addition to adhering to requirements established by franchisor manufacturers.
